Do you love helping others?
Carecrew is building a community of kind, reliable, and local people who want to make a real difference for older New Zealanders.
Whether you’re a student, retiree, caregiver, or just someone who enjoys helping — we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll be Doing
We do non-medical, flexible support work that truly helps people stay independent at home.
Our team helps clients with small, everyday tasks such as:
Light Cleaning & Laundry
Help keep homes tidy and comfortable by assisting with everyday chores like vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, folding laundry, and making beds. This small support can make a big difference in someone’s day.
Errands & Grocery Runs
Sometimes just getting out and about can be hard. You might be helping a client with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, posting mail, or grabbing a few essentials from the store.
Basic Tech Help
Support Elderly with simple tech tasks — from setting up a phone, showing how to video call family, or helping order something online. If it’s beyond basic, we’ll guide them to a pro.
Companionship & Conversation
Sometimes, the most valuable thing you can offer is your time. Sit and chat over a cuppa, go for a short walk, do a puzzle together, or just check in to make sure someone’s doing okay.
Meal Prep Assistance
Help with preparing simple meals, heating up food, or assisting with organising their kitchen. It’s about making food time easier and safer — not cooking gourmet, just caring support.
Paperwork & Organisation Help
Some of our clients may need help reading mail, filing documents, or remembering appointments. Your support can give peace of mind and make their daily life feel a bit less stressful.
Light Gardening & Outdoor Tasks
Watering plants, sweeping patios, or helping them bring in garden tools. These simple outdoor jobs are light and optional but often appreciated — especially in fine weather!
Pet Support
Offer small help with pet care — like feeding, fresh water, or a short walk. Pets are family, and your help keeps everyone happy.
What We Look For
Values come first. We’re looking for people who are genuinely caring, respectful, and reliable — the kind of people you'd trust to help your own whānau.
We believe kindness, empathy, and integrity are more important than fancy titles.
While you don’t need formal qualifications, we do expect:
-
Some past experience in caregiving or support work — paid, volunteer, or family-based
-
A strong commitment to respect, honesty, and compassion
-
A willingness to go the extra mile for others
-
First Aid certification (at your own cost — required before starting work)
-
A clean police vetting to ensure client safety
If you're community-minded and want to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
